ThinkFree for Tablet

Hancom Inc., the makers of the ThinkFree mobile office app, released a new and improved version of the the ThinkFree office suite that has been optimized for Android Honeycomb. Hancom continues to work on its offering for the Android phone and plans to release a version of the suite for the Android phone.

ThinkFree costs $9.99, and includes a word processing (Writer), spreadsheet (Calc) and PowerPoint (Show) application.

The Writer application allows the users to edit commonly formatted documents such as Microsoft Word and text.

Users may place pictures, shapes, symbols and all of the basic rich formatting styles (bold, lists, tables etc.) into a document.

The app is limited in its ability to access cloud based services such as DropBox and Google docs.

The initial version of the app was released in July of 2011. As future versions are released look for the suite to offer more interactivity with the cloud based document services.

ThinkFree for Phone

ThinkFree Mobile for Android phone asserts its claim to being a speedy app with a small footprint. It allows users to edit most types of Microsoft Word apps, includes the ability to insert images and shapes and renders in both landscape and portrait views.

The app sells for $9.99 from the Android market. A viewer only version of the app is available at no cost. The ThinkFree viewer is already embeded on new Sansung Nexus S phones.
